Aims. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of digital pocketbooks and animated videos about the danger signs of pregnancy in third-trimester pregnant women at the Kebon IX Health Center, Jambi City, Indonesia.
Methods. The pre-experimental study used a two-group pre-test post-test design involving 120 third-trimester pregnant women, which was carried out at the Kebon IX Health Center, Jambi City, Indonesia. The dependent variable is knowledge, while the independent variable is health education using animated videos and e-books about the danger signs of pregnancy—statistical analysis using paired t-test.
Findings. The pre-test knowledge of the animated video media group was in the good category at 50%, and after the intervention (post-test), it decreased to 100%. The pre-test knowledge of the e-book media group was in the book category at 66.7%, and after the intervention (post-test), it decreased to 100%. There are differences in the level of knowledge of pregnant women before and after the intervention using animated videos and e-books with a p-value <0.001.
Conclusion. Animated videos and e-books can increase the knowledge of third trimester pregnant women about danger signs of pregnancy.
