Aim: This study aimed to determine measuring food and nutrition literacy and nutrition knowledge level in junior doctors and Clinical students.
Instrument & Methods: This is a systematic review Study. English published research articles were reviewed using relevant terms in PubMed, CINAHL, Web of Science, EMBASE, Scopus and CINAHL databases. The articles were selected in terms of inclusion and exclusion criteria, repetition, purpose and relevance of articles to the topic. In order to check the quality and select articles, COSMIN checklist (Consensus-based Standards for the selection of health status Measurement Instruments) was used.
Finding: Among 2978 articles, a total of 15 articles were included in study. Six studies were conducted on nursing students and six articles on medical students. In total, 4697 students were examined in studies. The average nutrition and food literacy were sufficient and nutrition knowledge score was average. In 5 studies, it was observed that the amount of nutrition knowledge was higher than 50%. 7 studies were reported in terms of articles quality. In four studies, the relationship between nutritional information and nutritional pragmatism was reported.
Conclusion: The literacy and knowledge of nutrition and food in examined students was at an average level. Nutritional literacy has a direct relationship with nutritional performance.
